color:#1F497D'>I am interested in participating in the workshop. I am an
experimentalist and my research focuses on solid-state thin-film micro- and
nano-batteries. Currently , the materials of interest are mixed cathode based
on LiCoO2 and Li2RuO3 and we use lithium phosphate oxynitride (electrolyte)
glass, which is a <u>true</u> solid electrolyte. Therefore, there will be no
polymer or liquid in these batteries. We are very well equipped to make these
materials by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and also by magnetron sputtering. We
just acquired a double magnetron gun sputtering system a few weeks ago from
Denton Vacuum.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

research team with industry from the inception of the new NSF EPSCoR RII
project. Therefore, we are pleased to invite the LaSigma research team to
the first Louisiana Industry –Academia Collaborative Workshop.
Louisiana EPSCoR and Board of Regents plan to host a series of these workshops
with this first one focused on<u> Materials and Energy</u>. The purpose of
the workshop is to foster interactions between some of Louisiana’s
leading researchers and representatives of Louisiana’s industrial R&D
community. We also hope to identify and begin to address policies and
mechanisms that may impede fruitful synergisms between academia and industry. <br>
<br>
The Materials and Energy workshop is scheduled for October <u>15, 2010,
from noon to 5:30 PM</u> with a reception following in the Marriott in
Baton Rouge, LA. Faculty should take this opportunity to showcase their
research by <u>Poster Presentation immediately follows from 5:30 to 7:30
p.m</u>. <br>
